Surfactant Synergist, GlucoSpike™ cuts 1,4 dioxane, improves surfactant IFT

Summary

GlucoSpike™ is a surfactant synergist product that replaces up to 70% of the surfactants used in a formula while enhancing surfactant performance. GlucoSpike™ contains no 1,4 dioxane and can help acheive lower overall 1,4 dioxane levels in overall formulations. GlucoSpike™ is 100% biobased and biodegradable. This product can lower IFT, increase wetting, and can help with odor control, all while cutting cost.

Description

GlucoSpike™ is an EPA Safer Choice and CleanGredients listed bio-based surfactant synergist that reduces the cost and increases the performance of surfactants. It is a raw ingredient meant for cleaning formulations. Formulations using GlucoSpike™ have shown improved cleaning performance, superior wetting, and increased odor control in finished formulations.

GlucoSpike™ is designed to reduce the amount of surfactant needed in formulations, while maintaining equal or better performance. GlucoSpike™ stabilizes micelle formation, causing surfactants to micellize at lower concentrations. GlucoSpike™ is compatible with nonionic, anionic, amphoteric, cationic, and biosurfactants.

GlucoSpike™ is derived from yeast using a patented heat shock fermentation process. The yeast are provided specific inputs that induce their metabolism to produce co-surfactants as outputs. These co-surfactants are then harvested and stabilized, producing GlucoSpike™.

Possible replacement to

GlucoSpike™ is compatible with most surfactants. Commonly used surfactants that GlucoSpike™ can pair with and partially replace are: Alkyl polyglucoside (APG) Ethoxylated aclohols Sodium lauryl sulfate (sodium dodecyl sulfate, SLS, or SDS) Sodium laureth sulfate (sodium lauryl ether sulfate or SLES) Docusate (dioctyl sodium sulfosuccinate) Perfluorooctanesulfonate (PFOS) Ammonium lauryl sulfate Perfluorobutanesulfonate Alkyl-aryl ether phosphates Alkyl ether phosphates
